No One Noticed

She smiled as if nothing in the world was wrong
She told lies to keep her friends happy
She laughed along at the harsh jokes thrown at her even though it hurt
No one noticed how her heart felt as if it was being slaughtered with a knife as people teased

At home she stayed in the dark confines of the closet in her room
She was safe there. It's where she was left alone with her thoughts. As horrifying as they were
Her mother would show concern but she'd lie and her mother would smile and go on
No one noticed how puffy her eyes were from crying

When she was all alone she would kick, scream, cry and pull her hair
Dark morbid thoughts would enter her mind. Sucide, anger, murder
Her family would tell her to pray to God about her problems, but sometimes she wondered of there even was a god to pray to.

At night she would see things-have dreams
Demons would hold her down to her bed as black creatures crawled around her room
She was paralayzed verbally and physically. No way of screaming for help
Sometimes she would be awake when these things happened.
No one noticed how she would sleep with the lights on, holding herself shaking with fear

As she walked throught the halls of her school
When she forced laughs at family get-togethers
When she would scratch her skin raw when she was scared
No one noticed how she was slowly going insane
